HRSA Awards $12 Million to Improve Healthcare in Rural Delta Communities

The Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) has granted $12 million for the Delta States Rural Development Network Program (Delta States) in fiscal year 2023. This funding aims to support the development of integrated healthcare networks in eight states to address unmet healthcare needs and prevalent health disparities in rural Delta communities.

These health disparities include diabetes, cardiovascular disease, obesity, acute ischemic stroke, chronic lower respiratory disease, cancer, and unintentional injury/substance use. Grantee states and organizations include:

    • Rural Alabama Prevention Center, Eutaw
  • Arkansas
    • ARcare, Augusta
    • Arkansas Rural Health Partnership, Lake Village
  • Kentucky
    • Baptist Health Madisonville, Inc., Madisonville
  • Illinois
    • Southern Illinois University, Carbondale
  • Louisiana
    • The Health Enrichment Network, Oakdale
    • Hospital Service District 1 A, Delhi
  • Mississippi
    • Delta Health Alliance, Inc., Stoneville
    • Jefferson Comprehensive Health Center, Inc., Fayette
  • Missouri
    • Big Springs Medical Association, Inc., Ellington
    • The Mississippi County Health Department, Charleston
  • Tennessee
    • Methodist Le Bonheur Community Outreach, Memphis
