California has mobile-specific requirements for both dental and medical care.
Dental
Mobile-specific requirements identifiedThe Dental Board issues mobile dental clinic permits under Business and Professions Code § 1657 and 16 CCR § 1049. Its application requires evidence of emergency follow-up arrangements and communications, an address of record, qualified drivers, and facility and equipment compliance. The responsible dentist must hold an active license or oral and maxillofacial surgery permit.
The permit is not transferable and expires with the holder’s dental license. The Board lists separate application pathways and fee exemptions for certain clinic types. Ask the Board which § 1657(c) exclusions and registration or permit pathways apply to your clinic or portable dental services.

Mobile-specific requirements identifiedThe Mobile Health Care Services Act is the key mobile medical source; a mobile clinic must be licensed or added to existing licensure unless an exemption applies, and the Act includes application, inspection, equipment, emergency, local-approval, and record/log requirements.
