The MCHB RCP consolidates previous research initiatives, including the Pregnancy-Related Care Research Network (PRCRN) and Pediatric Research in Office Settings (PROS), into a unified program. Applicants are encouraged to concentrate on one or more priority topics within the following categories:


1. Pregnancy and Postpartum:

Stillbirth prevention

The fourth trimester (defined as the 12 weeks following birth)

Obstetric/gynecologic care in underserved areas

Maternal mental health

Maternal cardiovascular health

Implementation of clinical guidelines for maternal care

2. Pediatric Care:

Pediatric mental health

Childhood preventive care

Strategic partnerships with health care providers and educators

Family collaborative care models

Coordinating systems of care

 

Eligibility and Funding Details

 

Eligible applicants include public or nonprofit institutions of higher learning, as well as public or private nonprofit agencies engaged in research or programs related to maternal and child health. A wide range of organizations, such as nonprofits with or without 501(c)(3) status, institutions of higher education, and various governmental entities, are invited to apply.

The deadline for submitting applications is April 23, 2025. Prospective applicants are encouraged to prepare their proposals promptly to take advantage of this opportunity to contribute to advancements in maternal and child health research.
