NCCF Grant Opportunities

NCCF Grant Opportunities

The North Carolina Community Foundation (NCCF) is a significant connector between nonprofit organizations and donors, administering nearly 1,300 funds across the state. While many of these funds are advised by donors based on their philanthropic interests, NCCF also operates several grantmaking programs that invite applications each year.

The community grantmaking programs are advised by local affiliate foundations who have deep insights into local needs. In addition, NCCF sponsors multiple giving circles primarily focused on enhancing the lives of women, children, and families through collective giving.

The NCCF community grantmaking program aids charitable organizations serving communities within its network of affiliate foundations. The affiliates are organized by region, with each having a program officer who facilitates the grantmaking program.

Decisions on grants are made by the affiliate's board members, leveraging their local knowledge and expertise to meet community needs. The program funds a wide variety of purposes including education, human services, basic needs, arts, historical preservation, health, recreation, youth development, environment, and animal welfare. One notable program is the Louise Oriole Burevitch Endowment, which supports nonprofits serving education, health, and human services within 41 counties in eastern NC. The NCCF will accept applications for this program once in 2023, opening on June 30, 2023 and closing at NOON on Aug. 1, 2023. Awards will be made out in October. Supporting charitable organizations serving women, children and families, NCCF's Giving Circles are excellent grant opportunities if your group serves these areas. They leverage the power of local community networks and collective giving to address particular community needs. Learn more about them here!
